Dear Parents:
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:18
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
Happy Thanksgiving! This week we celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. We planned a special assembly and teachers prepared special activities around a Thanksgiving meal. We know that the students will see the power of the holiday and the power of a grateful spirit. We urge you to take the time to acknowledge how God has blessed your family, and express your gratitude for the strengths you see in your children.
In honor of this holiday, there will be a short vacation; no school on Thursday or Friday, November 28 and 29.
Merry Christmas!
All students are performing in our Annual Christmas Program on Friday, December 6, at 7:00pm. In October, 2012, a survey was taken during the Science Fair. Parents requested that we choose a different evening of the week for our programs; particularly a Friday. Therefore, we have scheduled the annual Christmas celebration this year, on a Friday evening. Although parental participation is not required, we hope that you will find the time to come. The program is not expected to run longer than one hour. It will be interesting to learn if a Friday evening is more convenient for parents.
Students with instruments need to arrive at 6:30 to tune them, but other students can arrive at 6:45. Elementary students should report to their homerooms by 6:45.
All students must wear their performance attire: for the boys, black dress pants and a white dress shirt; for the girls, a long black skirt and a white blouse. Dark shoes are appreciated, but not mandatory. No heels for the girls!
Please prepare the “black and whites” for a dress rehearsal on Tuesday morning, December 3, at 8:00.
Christmas parties will be held throughout the building on December 19. Rather than giving gifts to each other, some classes will be bringing gifts and donations for those in our neighborhood who are under heavy economic strains and some will be providing gifts and donations for the victims in the Philippines.
Quarterly Exams!
Middle School quarterly exams have been scheduled for December 16-19. High School exams have been scheduled for half days on December 16 and 17. There will be no school on Friday, December 20, as we begin our Christmas vacation. School will reopen on Monday, January 6.
Registration for the second semester is next week, December 2-6.
Under God’s Grace,
Mrs. Chow
