Dear Parents:
Happy Thanksgiving! This week we celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. We have planned a special assembly and teachers have prepared special activities around a Thanksgiving meal. We hope that the students realize the power of the holiday and the power of a grateful spirit. In honor of this holiday, there will be a short vacation; no school on Thursday or Friday, November 22 and 23. We hope that you have time to spend with your children.

Psalm 100
1 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
2 Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before Him with joyful songs.
3 Know that the LORD is God.
It is He who made us, and we are His;
we are His people, the sheep of His pasture.
4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving
and His courts with praise;
give thanks to Him and praise His name.
5 For the LORD is good and His love endures forever;
His faithfulness continues through all generations.

Merry Christmas! Decorations are coming up all over the school as kids are putting the final touches on their performances. There will be only one Christmas program this year; a combination of the talents of all of the students and all musical groups. Although students will not earn special points from your presence, please plan to attend on Tuesday evening, December 4, at 7:00. I’m sure that the students will planning class Christmas parties soon. We have included in this note information about our church Christmas festivities. Christmas is the time to celebrate the birth of Christ, so please attend a church of your choice.
Please prepare for a dress rehearsal of the annual Christmas program on Thursday, November 29. All students will perform, wearing their formal black and whites for both the dress rehearsal and the program on December 4.
God has been good to us all. We have all been learning; learning through daily lessons, learning through the Science Fair, Acts of Kindness, note taking, projects, assignments and tests. The first semester is always exciting and the second semester is always productive. We look forward to the second semester, with new friends joining our classes, Chinese New Year fun, the Myanmar fund raiser, Speech Meet, Spirit Week, Talent Shows, standardized tests, Spiritual Emphasis Week, and Graduation.
Quarterly exams are December 10-14. Christmas vacation is December 17-January 3. There are only three weeks remaining of the second quarter. Registration for the second semester is December 3-7, the week of the Christmas program.
Under God’s Grace,
Mrs. Chow

Mrs. Chow
