Dear Parents:
We wish you a blessed time of family celebration during the Moon Festival holiday. Please be advised that school will be closed on Monday, October 1, for a Teacher’s Workshop day. This should allow for your family to continue the holiday into a new week. If the typhoon presents a danger, and the government closes schools on Monday, the Teacher’s workshop day will be cancelled and school will have a regular class schedule on Tuesday, October 2. Of course, there will be no school on October 10.
The month of October will bring new faces to GCA. Mr. Robert Catlin, who has been substituting in our high school science department, will continue at GCA, full time. We welcome Mr. Richard Hood, another teacher from the US, to work with Math, Bible and Basketball. You will also find a new face in the school office. Please come by and say hello to Miss Jackie Pai.
Quarterly exams will be held October 8-15. Exam schedules are full class days, 7:45-3:45. Students will be given less homework so that they can prepare for their exams. Please help to ensure that your children have healthy meals and a good night’s rest.
The second quarter begins on October 16.
Students should all be working on their science fair projects. Middle school and high school students should be completing their research and preparing their experiments. November 7 is the evening presentation of those projects.
Under God’s Grace,
Mrs. Chow
