GCA Memo

Elementary School Parents
Dear Parents:
The Annual Talent Show, “The Making of Talent”, will be presented next Tuesday evening, March 5, at 7:00pm. Please plan to attend. This is a unique time of the school year because in addition to performing with their peers and their GCA music teachers, the children demonstrate some of their interests from outside of school. We believe that every child who wants to perform has been given that opportunity. Please ask your son or daughter if they have planned a solo or other performance, which has not been designed by a music teacher. If your child has not volunteered and you would like him/her to be added, please call the school.
Students should arrive at 6:30 if they have an instrument to prepare and 6:45 for students who do not need to tune an instrument. Supervision is not available after school. Please do not expect your child to stay at school between 3:45 and 6:45, even if they have an older sibling to supervise. If there is not enough time to travel home from school and return by 6:45, please come to school and take your child home as early as is necessary.
Please remember that all students wear their “black and white” performance clothes; black dress pants and white dress shirt for the boys, and a long black skirt and white blouse for the girls. Black shoes are best, but please don’t feel that you need to purchase new shoes. These clothes must be worn on Friday, March 1 for the dress rehearsal and again on Tuesday evening, March 5, for the performance.
In addition to the black and white performance clothes, certain performances have an additional costume change. This costume may be at school already. For the dance routines, all of the girls will wear their ballet clothes. For the boy’s workout routine, all of the boys will wear their red GCA shirt and their black dress pants.
Please be advised that students will have the day off following the Talent Show. There will be no classes on Wednesday, March 6, for students in grades 1-5.
Two additional notes:
1. There will be no school on Thursday, February 28, however, school is open on Friday, March 1.
2. April 22-26 is the week of our Junior/Senior high school Internship Program. We can still accommodate more companies who would like to find work opportunities for our students. Please call the school office with any questions that you may have. We are willing to communicate directly with the appropriate officials, at your recommendation. This is an opportunity to introduce our students to real life experiences in the corporate environment, during their final years of high school.
Thank you,
Mrs. Chow
