Dear Parents: April 2015
April 13-17, is the registration period at GCA for the 2015-2016 school year. We appreciate your support for the current school year and we look forward to continuing the progress that has been made into the next school year. Included in this envelope, you will find the school calendar and the fee schedule. We ask that you provide your contact information on a new registration form so that we can update our files.
April 13-17 is also a significant week at GCA because of the visiting team from the WASC accreditation agency in the US. This will be an additional accreditation, above what we have had for years. We thank Dr. Owens for the years he has spent working toward this particular accreditation and all of the teachers for their time developing, planning and teaching standards and gathering data. The visiting team will be at GCA from Sunday-Friday. Parents are welcome to come to a question and response session on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 in the cafeteria, during which the team members will ask parents questions about the services available here at GCA. The team members will be observing teachers in their classrooms and examining student work. This is a significant visit in regard to the school history, however, it should not place any pressure upon individual students.
Standardized testing, parent-teacher conferences and internships for students in grades 11 and 12 will all take place during the week of April 20-24. We will send home more information after the spring break. Here are some dates to remember.
April 3-10 | Spring Break, no classes |
April 20-24 | Standardized testing; half day schedule, all students dismissed at 1:00 |
June 2 | Graduation ceremony 7pm. All students will perform; all need to wear their black and white performance clothes. |
June 8-12 | Middle School Final Exams |
June 10-12 | High School Final Exams |
June 12 | last day of school; 1:00 dismissal |
John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
Under God’s Grace,
