Dear GCA Families:

The 2015-2016 school year begins next week.  The teachers are getting ready and we are all looking forward to a spectacular year.

Allow me to pause and update you on the condition of the four girls from GCA who experienced the explosion in June.  Two of the girls are still in intensive care units, but there is hope that they will be in regular hospital rooms soon.  None of the girls are experiencing internal organ failure or loss of limbs.  All have demonstrated great progress toward the healing process but they will need extensive physical therapy for their legs, feet, arms and hands.  Thank you for your prayers and your calls concerning their welfare.

Monday is an important day.  In the morning, all students who are new to our middle school or high school need to meet the teachers in the chapel at 9:00.  Parents are welcome to attend, but it is not necessary.  New students will have an opportunity to meet the other new students, and get their schedules.  They should be finished by 11:00.  (Returning students can get their schedules on Tuesday.)

Monday is also an important day for the elementary students.  “Meet Your Teacher Day” follows an open house format.  Parents and students together can come and visit at any time during the two hour period of 1:00-3:00.  The teachers will be in their classrooms and you can be along side of your child as he/she meets new friends.  The first and second grade students will meet a new teacher to GCA, Mrs. Mondloch-Potts.  All will meet their new Chinese teacher, Miss Kuo.

Tuesday is the first day of school for all of the students.  It will be a full day of school, so please be in the classrooms by 7:45.

Under God’s Grace,

Bonnie Chow
