2014-2015 School Year Final

Dear Parents:

Thank you for the support you have shown this school year.  We are grateful for your willingness      to attend parent teacher conferences, set up special conferences when needed, help out at home with special projects, and contribute to the Myanmar orphanage fund.

I have attached the schedule for the next school year.  Your presence is always appreciated at our evening programs.  Please arrange the schedules for your children so that they can reap the benefits of public performances.

Thank you for your contributions for the orphanage in Myanmar.  The current total is NT$234,125.  All of this will be given to the orphanage.  I hope that the students in grade 11 will consider a graduation trip    to visit the orphanage and perhaps create a video for us.  It wouldn’t be a glamorous trip, but serving others is always a productive experience.

Students are taking final exams this week.  Report cards won’t be ready until next week.  We’ll put them in the mail for you unless you call to say that you will come to GCA to get them.  High school students   will also receive a transcript and a compiled sheet of comments from their teachers.

I apologize to families who have been informed that textbooks or library books are missing.  This is an issue we are faced with each June.  This past December we checked textbooks in an effort to have fewer surprises in June, but there are still missing textbooks.  I recognize the frustration that students feel when    they can’t find a textbook.  We plead with students to keep their textbooks locked up in their lockers, but most students enjoy sharing with their classmates.  Unfortunately, report cards are not sent home to students who have unresolved textbook issues.

The lost and found in B1 is growing!  The students have been reminded to check for personal items in their classrooms, B1, and in the school office. There are still two unclaimed musical instruments in the  school office. Lost items often reveal themselves on the last day of school.

Friday is our last day of school.  Please note that it is an exam day for middle school and high school students. Elementary students do not have final exams.  School will dismiss at 1:00.  Friday is an important day for the students to close out their school year.  Students particularly enjoy getting their friends and teachers to sign their Yearbook.  (The Yearbook is on sale in the school office for $500.)

We are grateful to parents who tell their friends about GCA.  You are our best ambassadors.  We  are expecting an increase in enrollment for the 2015-2016 school year.  I know you are all curious to learn about new students. Currently the enrollment is as follows.
